GPCC President & CEO Rob Wonderling Honored by the Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia

The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce today announced that Rob Wonderling, President and CEO, will be honored by The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia during their annual Celebrate Hope Luncheon on September 18, 2014.

As President and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Wonderling leads a business advocacy organization of member companies that promotes growth and economic development in the 11-county region. With an agenda to advance the region’s businesses, particularly by strengthening opportunities for entrepreneurs, his goal reflects his lifelong interest in innovation and economic expansion. He is committed to inclusion and excellence in management of all diverse people irrespective of differences.

“The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia is pleased to recognize Rob Wonderling for his outstanding leadership in the city of Philadelphia,” says Major Robert W. Dixon, director of operations for The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia. “His vision and passion for improving our communities is something we find inspiring. Through his work to build a better and more lucrative climate for our city, he’s an agent of positive change. As an organization that strives to make everyday life better for our neighbors in need, we feel connected to Rob’s mission and we are excited to present him with this honor.”

Wonderling serves on numerous boards and commissions including the Philadelphia School Reform Commission Search Committee for a new Superintendent of Schools, the Pennsylvania Governor’s Commission on Postsecondary Education, the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, the Pennsylvania Convention Center Board Authority, the World Trade Center of Philadelphia, Mission Kids, and the Pittsburgh Super Computing Advisory Council. He is also Chairman of the PA Parks and Forest Foundation.

Rob Wonderling will formally accept the honor, during The Salvation Army’s annual Celebrate Hope Luncheon on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Hyatt at the Bellevue in Center City, Philadelphia.
